High Wheel Riders 2006

On Saturday, June 17, 2006, Richmond, Illinois held their Annual Strawberry Festival.  The John Flynn Wheelmen from Milwaukee were invited to appear.  These High Wheel Riders have appeared at many local festivals throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states.  John and his four fellow riders are accomplished riders, some riding original bikes dating back to the mid 1800's.  Both adults and children were amazed to see these high wheel bikes that most had only seen in old photographs.  Rennie Ballagh and three other members of the Club were invited to escort these riders through the streets of Richmond for safety reasons.  You may soon see Rennie riding one of these fabulous old bikes on a Tuesday or Thursday ride!
